Missions at Grace United Methodist Church

The goal of your Missions Committee is to provide you a way of being Christian, in our community and the world, through participation in the various mission efforts outlined below:

African Partnerships: Help in organizing fund raising events. Join volunteers in Ministry for rewarding experiences.

Aging GRACEfully: Volunteer to help our church members who may need assistance around the house, yard or a trip to the doctor or store.

DenUM: Assist in collecting food and clothing for an outreach program.

Food Collection: Volunteering in your donations, assisting in bagging and distribution of food items once a month to distribution centers.

Interfaith Hospitality Network – I.H.N: The goal of this program is to help find housing and work for homeless families during their three month stay in the IHN program. We need hosts in many capacities during the weeks they are with us. They stay in Sunday School rooms at night and during the day they are either in school, working, or at the Central day site. Meals are provided. Click on Interfaith Hospitality Network for more information.

Meals on Wheels: Meals are delivered to the church each day and it would be your responsibility to deliver it to a person in need. You can volunteer as often or as little as you want.

Power of One: Being the voice for each committee to ensure our congregation is aware of the many opportunities we have to help. Even though we are one, we can make a big difference.

Prison Ministries: Assist in organizing the Angel Tree at Christmas, volunteer van drivers are needed to transport children of prisoners in attending Camp Joy, help put together backpacks for prisoners being released.

Unitied Methodist Women: The UMW does hands-on mission work such as sewing, distributing quilts to the needy through local social agencies. Make health kits for distribution by the Board of Global Ministries in times of crisis. Collect and deliver new gifts for donation to Warren Village Holiday Shops.

Unitied Methodist Men: Grace United Methodist Men’s (GUMM) food coupon program provides 5% of sales for the ministries at Grace. Men are needed to sell food certificates after the first service and before the second service on Sundays.

Youth Missions: If you are in middle school or high school and want to be involved in mission work, you can participate in two-hour service project once-a-month with other youth.
